I was so thrilled to be invited to deliver a Talk @ Google. My topic title is above. As I told the Googlers, and as you’ll learn by watching, the power of the spoken word is never on greater display than during presidential campaigns. It’s where we can all see magic in action… nobodies become players. Of course, it’s also a perfect platform for demagogues. My simple premise… and what I said clearly during the presentation… is if mastery of these skills can open the door for them (with all their lies, prevarications, and obfuscations), it can certainly open the door for you.
