RSA’s executive media training and coaching courses teach clients how to manage media interviews. Whether there is a need to perform as a subject matter expert, announce news or deal with a crisis,  clients will benefit from this program. Ruth Sherman is an expert media trainer and has worked with a variety of professionals including corporate officers and executives, government agency officers, attorneys, authors, and politicians who anticipate media contact will benefit from this program. It is delivered in workshops ranging from half- to 2-days. The material that is covered includes:

  • What to expect in various media environments.
  • Developing primary corporate messages and supporting information.
  • Preparing and rehearsing for media interviews.
  • Delivering key messages in concise “sound bites.”
  • Bridging to main messages regardless of the interviewer’s questions.

When schedules preclude workshop participation or an immediate need for media skills training arises, one-on-one media training is the answer. Ruth Sherman works with clients to target skills and techniques that will have the most impact on the media interview. When a journalist thrusts a microphone at you or an issue requiring immediate attention arises, be ready by working with us. The following material can be covered:

With the growing abundance of broadcast media, and the resulting 24/7 scrutiny, top executives must be able to positively represent their businesses or agencies to the general public. Whether called in as an expert, to deliver important corporate news, or manage a crisis, leadership requires being prepared for media interviews. The material that is covered may include:

  • Maintaining control of the interview through bridging techniques.
  • Staying on-message regardless of questions being asked.
